In addition, you can choose from a variety of helicopters to use on the battlefields against your enemies. Each one has its own strengths and weaknesses, but they all play differently from each other in terms of speed and functionality. Overall the gameplay is terrific!

I love how it has a ranking system for players who are competitive, but what really bothered me was that even if you’re on top of the leaderboards, you still have to keep playing more games overtime just to rank higher up there even if it doesn’t feel like your improving.

What does this mean? Well basically once you reach first place, even if you manage to stay up there, there’s still a chance that someone else will come and pass you because the leaderboard ranking system resets after a certain amount of time.

What this means is that it doesn’t matter how good you are at the game since anyone can suddenly overtake your top spot with just a little effort.

In addition, I feel like each skill point earned feels extremely minimal as well unless you’re going far enough into the games. It really wasn’t worth my time or effort honestly, but then again it’s optional so no points off for that

The graphics here were only OK in my opinion. Basically, what felt missing was nice-looking scenery other than just blurry rocks and trees when you fly around.

I thought to myself, “What about other aircraft?”, but when I spawned in a plane, it was already there where whatever scenery there was.

It would’ve been better if the game added some kind of background music or sound effects instead of just having my helicopter’s engine sounds all by itself since that can get annoying after a while if you don’t have headphones with you.

You can also perform escort missions for other friendly aircraft or engage in dogfights against enemy jets and other choppers. The main goal of the game is to achieve victory in each mission, which you do by destroying your enemies.

The controls were very responsive even when my device was not properly calibrated for use with the touchscreen controls. These aren’t anything complicated or overly-sensitive – what I mean is that the game doesn’t use an accelerometer to determine what you’re doing (i.e. move left, right, up, down).

Instead, it uses on-screen buttons that respond well even when your device’s touch capabilities are not properly calibrated. You can also toggle between touchscreen controls and physical controls if you prefer using a gamepad over tapping on the screen.

The missions were fun to go through (especially later ones) because of what type of helicopters they used for each task.

Sometimes there is very little description about what exactly your mission objective is or what exactly you have to do in order to complete it successfully. This causes confusion on how to play and what to do. It’s not a huge deal but it can make the game less enjoyable.

The graphics reminded me of my favorite arcade simulator – Apache Overkill. That game has 3D graphics as well as what they call “retro mode” which allows them to look like your average 2D side-scrollers from way back in the day (but with 3D environments).

Gunship Battle: Helicopter 3D also seems to be inspired by earlier helicopter simulators like Apache Overkill, but brings its own unique spin on things with what I would call high production value (e.g human voices narrating what is going on during each gameplay sequence; different types of helicopters that are used in the missions; etc).

It uses what is probably one of the best interfaces I have seen in action games (and that’s saying something since there are SO many out there). It was simple enough to understand what everything meant but it also gave me enough control over what my helicopter could do.

You can activate different types of weapons, change your speed, redirect your helicopter, and perform advanced maneuvers like barrel roll when you need them (depending on what stage you’re in).

The controls were easy to manipulate even when moving up/down/left/right at an angle. Even when I was BARREL ROLLING! This game provides you with plenty of opportunities for high scores if that’s what you’re into.

I think this is what the developer wanted to do with creating different missions that pretty much you have to destroy everything in sight without dying.

Well, there was one thing that didn’t really make sense to me. When I first started playing the game it only gave me one helicopter type to use but as I continued on through the missions they would change up what helicopters are used for what objective.

What doesn’t make sense is why would they ever give you a whole bunch of different types of helicopters if you can’t even upgrade them? Or unlock new ones?

The upgrades are nice and all but it’s just pointless when you don’t have what you need to complete what you have to do.

Maybe this is what they were going for because it forces the player to focus on what type of helicopters they need as opposed to upgrading ones that they don’t use as much… But I personally think it’s what makes the game less enjoyable and more annoying.

Gunship Battle: Helicopter 3D has a very battlefield-esque feel to it with its explosions, gunfire, etc. So if you’re looking for a “mature” video game then this one will fit your needs nicely.
